Sr. Lecturer, School of Fashion
Badap Hynniewta graduated from St Edmund’s College, Shillong, and is currently working as a Senior Lecturer of Fashion & Celebrity Makeup in Pearl Academy, Delhi. He has more than 14 years of experience with some of the leading brands such as IL&FS INDIA Skills Development, JAVED HABIB, and M.A.C. Many of his projects include music video projects with T- shoots, portfolio shoots, magazine shoots, and runway shows, editorial shows, look book shoots and all these projects are spread all over the country.
His artistic skills and eye for detail has helped him to collaborate and work with the best in the industry, be it leading a team of makeup artist during prestigious, Lakme India Fashion Week, Lotus India Fashion Week, or working with the participants of charity fashion week organized by the United Nation Women’s Association. As a freelance make-up expert, he has worked with online portals such Myntra and fashion glossies Vogue and Style Cruze a (U.S.-based print fashion magazine).
He was invited to conduct a master class in the beauty booth, an event organized by THE LUXURIOUS DLF EMPORIO, Delhi where he was one of the six leading make-up artists in the city to interact with Cream de la Creme. Recently Badap published two articles at THE NORTHEAST HUB NEWS and THE SHILLONG TIMES. He is best known for his expertise in Headgears, Creative, Bridal, and Avante- Garde makeup. Badap chose this career path because of an inborn passion for art and colors as he was born in a culture rich in both. He was raised in an age-old culture of colorful tribal lifestyle in Meghalaya, fueled with ethnic clothes, accessories, dance, and music. Thanks to the surrounding his work is a potpourri of all that he has absorbed in so many years.

Over the last ten years, Devyani has managed and delivered projects in architecture, interior, urban and regional transportation and land use planning, community development, smart cities, and sustainable development across multiple landscapes. She has managed multi-disciplinary teams of planners, engineers and architects to see projects from inception through implementation to delivery.
A strong team player with proven communication and organizational skills, she has had the opportunity to host stakeholder meetings, events, and public meetings. She is very hands-on with the latest design software and trends in the market and is always on the lookout for creative challenges.

Fakhera Jadliwala, an Associate Professor, Pearl Academy, holds a Diploma in Apparel Manufacturing and Design (PVP S.N.D.T. Juhu) and Masters in Fashion Design( S.O.F.T.Pune).
Fakhera brings with her both academic and industry experience, with core proficiency in technical subjects such as pattern making and garment construction, teaching across all levels in PG, UG, and PC courses at Pearl Academy. Takes a keen interest in Indian crafts and textiles. She is a travel enthusiast and best describes herself as a lifelong learner.

Jannat is a Makeup Artist, Makeup Designer & Educator. Having undertaken specialized training in the fields of Prosthetics and Movie Makeup for the Theatre, Film, TV & Media Industry, Jannat has worked with some of the best production houses, directors & actors. She has also lent her Beauty & Makeup skills for several feature films as well as music videos as the Head of Department for Makeup & Hair.
Her thorough knowledge of corrective makeup techniques, subtle or striking colors, and application of a broad range of makeup styles helps her cater to different demands and requirements of the industry. She has also done editorial shoots with the leading fashion magazines and catalog shoots for fashion designers and fashion brands. She keeps harnessing her skill set by curating different looks for all her social media platforms.
Jannat holds a Masters degree from the highly acclaimed & internationally accredited Makeup Designory, New York, USA.
Associate professor, School of Fashion
Parag Goswami is an Assistant Professor and currently teaches in the department of Fashion Styling and Image Design at Pearl Academy. A postgraduate, he has 10 years of higher education academic experience, including 5 years in mid-managerial level in one of the top 5 fortune 500 companies. A fashion critic and a contributing social, political, art, and cultural commentator, he understands the mechanics and business climate of the industry. A freelance blogger and a writer, he is a regular contributor to some of the country’s leading newspapers and magazines such as ‘Hindustan Times’, ‘Outlook India’ and ‘The Sunday Guardian.’ His topic of interest varies from the psychology of clothing in politics to celebrity culture and semiotics of local and international red-carpet parades.
. He has served as an international relations officer and has worked closely with some of the leading art and design colleges and universities in Europe on various collaborative projects. Parag regularly conducts fashion business and image building workshops, that include grooming models and aspiring actors for pageants and movies and personality development training programs for the corporate crowd.
He has closely collaborated with various design houses, brands, organizations, and associations such as the Ministry of Textiles, World Bank, French & Italian Chamber of Commerce, and Fashion Design Council of India for a series of commercial, social, and Government of India’s skill development & training projects and initiatives.

As Illusive and Cryptic as his work, he creates fleeting but powerful emotions and drama typifying sculptural, architectural, and avant-garde designs using unique color combinations and weird inspirations. He grazes in the land of pleats, origami, and Platonic solids. Having a science background, he is a mad growling scientist when it comes to designing.

Meha Jayaswal has over 24 years of experience in the fashion & media industry. Starting her career with India’s leading stock market magazine of the 90s - Dalal Street Investment Journal, she moved onto International Wool Secretariat (owners of the Woolmark) as a Trade Communications Executive - India and Southeast Asia and then to Confederation of Indian Industry, HQ New Delhi, before joining Pearl Academy in 2001.
A NET qualified mass communication graduate and trained in Advanced Fashion Journalism from London College of Fashion, UK, she has cumulated rich experience of curriculum research, planning and pedagogy. Her professional highlights include managing media and trade communications for International Wool Secretariat, Confederation of Indian Industry and forging close linkages with India’s leading media houses for Pearl Academy.
She has completed her Post-Graduate Certification in Higher Education from Nottingham Trent University, UK as a third topper. Now, she shares her knowledge and experience with students and faculty members of Fashion Media, Journalism & Entertainment, Photography courses as the Head of the Department. She teaches various modules on Media Management, Advertising & Promotions, Fashion PR and mentors research projects of final year undergraduate & postgraduate students across Delhi & Mumbai. Recently, she has also been appointed as a Mentor for faculty members undergoing training in Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practices.

Susmita Mukherjee started her career in journalism with the India Today Group and the Hindustan Times before moving into TV journalism at NDTV. She later joined the Times Internet group to set up the News Features section for www.indiatimes.com. She has worked with established media houses and with start-ups over her career. She is a faculty member at the Pearl School of Contemporary Media now where she teaches mass communication.

Sonika Tewari has over 8 years of journalistic experience in leading channels like Zee News, Zoom and Sahara News. She has excelled in anchoring as well as reporting. Sonika has broken stories from the entertainment world as well as emergency situations like the Mumbai Bomb blasts. Over the years, she has also represented the channel in overseas events. Sonika has also taught at reputed colleges like the National College and Don Bosco College. Sonika has done her Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from KC College, Mumbai.

Aparna a fashion design graduate from NIFT Delhi, started her career by teaching fashion production in the social sector and later on moved to write in fashion and lifestyle. After her stint with some of the biggest names in the media industry, like Zee Media and India Today Group, she moved on to become a blogger covering major fashion and lifestyle events and collaborating with some top know brands on her blog. Teaching students have always been h, this is sore passion which brought her back to the academy.

Pritesh is in the photography field for over 25 years. He has studied from Sir J J Institute of Applied Arts and has gathered his experience in the field while working for the biggies in the industry such as Canon and Kodak. He has worked on over 500 workshops for education institutes, corporates and MNCs.
